Elevate What's Possible
Investing in the educators, district-wide innovation and bold ideas that power student success for over 52,000 Cherry Creek students. In 2025-26, our community raised over $1 million to help make it possible.
01 | Educator Initiative Grants Thrive Grants
33 Years of Believing in Educators
Since 1993, Cherry Creek Schools Foundation has funded ideas that come directly from educators. Educator Initiative Grants (EIG) is one of the Foundation’s longest-running commitments, putting small grants in the hands of teachers so they can try something new in their classrooms. In 2025–26, the program funded 198 grants totaling $200K. At the end of the year, the Foundation gave the program a new name: Thrive Grants.
What's New: Thrive Fellowships
Thrive Grants up to $1,200 will continue for individual educators. A new $5,000–$10,000 tier, Thrive Fellowships, will fund educator cohorts using Science of Reading practices, tied to the district's 2030 literacy goal.
02 | Strategic Planning: Excellence for Every Student
We Asked. You Answered
In spring 2026, the Foundation asked the Cherry Creek community a simple question: what should we focus on for the next five years? Educators, parents, donors, alumni, board members, and community partners answered through an online survey and six facilitated focus groups over five weeks. The message was consistent across every format and audience: the Foundation is doing the right work, and the community wants more of it.
03 | Scholarships
Investing in What Comes Next
In 2025-26, Cherry Creek Schools Foundation invested over $91,000 in scholarships for Cherry Creek Schools graduating seniors to support their post-secondary journeys.
04 | My Spark Cherry Creek
A Spark for Every Middle Schooler
My Spark received a $40K planning grant from Gary Community Ventures to study whether an enrichment program for Cherry Creek middle schoolers is feasible. The work is underway: listening to district staff and the community, mapping local providers and modeling costs, choosing the student population to serve, and forming a champions committee. The first target population is middle schoolers who qualify for free or reduced lunch (FRL).
Planning will produce a feasibility determination for Gary Community Ventures. If the results are strong, the next step is a two-school pilot, with approval targeted for December 2026.
05 | Full Circle Play
Where Kids Play, Teens Lead, and Communities Grow
Full Circle Play is a Colorado nonprofit, fiscally sponsored by Cherry Creek Schools Foundation, that is rebuilding locally led, self-sustaining sport and play ecosystems with a focus on under-resourced communities, where kids’ access does not depend on what parents can pay, their availability to volunteer, or their ability to drive.
The model trains and pays high school students as coaches, mentors, and program operators. They deliver sport and play programming for elementary-age kids in their own feeder schools. The belief behind it: the solution to the youth sports access crisis is already in our communities, in young people who, when equipped with real training and support, are uniquely positioned to lead.
06 | SECOR Mobile Markets
Fresh Food, Right at School
Mobile Markets bring fresh food and household essentials directly to families and support CCSD’s 30+ school pantries and resource centers. In partnership with SECOR, the Foundation hosted six markets during the 2025–26 school year, all at the Prairie/Overland campus. Each market is stocked with approximately 4,500 pounds of food. Attendance is kept intentionally moderate so every family has equitable access to the items they need.
