Colorado Gives Day: Fueling Possibility, One Story at a Time
At Cherry Creek Schools Foundation, we believe every child deserves the chance to feel supported, inspired, and ready to learn.
When you give, you’re doing more than funding a program, you’re telling a student: “You matter. We see you. And we’re behind you.”
Public funding can’t always meet every need. But together, we can.
Let’s keep showing up for our students. Let’s keep building the kind of schools - and the kind of future - we can all believe in.
You Make These Stories Possible
When you give, you don’t just support a cause.
You create spaces for students to breathe.
You build confidence in young leaders.
You bring joy and connection back into learning.
Here’s how your generosity comes to life in our schools:
A Space to Regulate and Belong – Buffalo Trail Elementary
When students at Buffalo Trail feel overwhelmed, they have a place to go—because of you.
“My students freely use the social-emotional space throughout the day to re-regulate themselves. This frees up time for me to meet academic needs while students are managing their emotional well-being.
The grant I received from CCSF has positively impacted my students by creating and nurturing a safe space where students feel a sense of belonging.”
— Anna Esgro, elementary teacher
Learning to Name Emotions, and Build Empathy – Sagebrush Elementary
At Sagebrush, students are learning that understanding feelings - both their own and others’ - is the first step toward building stronger relationships.
“Our students really enjoyed the new stories and activities we were able to get. They were able to make connections with events in their lives, with stories that they have read and then were able to translate those connections into their daily lives in school.
Knowing how to recognize some of those core emotions allowed them the opportunity to build empathy towards others.”
— Kalen Crane, elementary teacher
Confidence Through Coffee – Sky Vista Middle School
Sometimes, growth starts with a cup of coffee.
“The funds awarded to our program were used for our monthly coffee cart. Making coffee, delivering coffee, and counting change has really helped my students with special needs come out of their shells and feel more confident.
My students are now comfortable in the community and working with adults.”
— Rochelle Loob, special education teacher
Discovering Strengths, Building Futures – Cherry Creek High School
At Cherry Creek High School, students are discovering who they are - and what they’re capable of.
“We wanted to empower students by helping them identify and understand their specific strengths. Our grant allowed students to have access to an assessment and valuable resources linked to their specific strengths.
Students were actively engaged in this work, and the responses and feedback we have received from students has been extremely positive.
Our students have gained an understanding and appreciation of their individual strengths. They are demonstrating increased confidence and belief in themselves as a result of this grant.”
— David Rowe, high school teacher
Why Colorado Gives Day Matters
Each year, gifts made during Colorado Gives Day are amplified by an incentive fund—helping your dollars go even further. But beyond the numbers, this day is a celebration of community, commitment, and collective impact.
Your gift doesn’t just fund a grant.
It changes the course of a student’s day. Their year. Sometimes, even their life.
Let’s do more of that—together.
